Date Sunday June 9th, 2019 Time 7 PM Meeting Place Lafayette Open Space (address shared when you register) Investment $25 for materials, teachings, fruit, and candle. After June 7th: $30. Bring a friend: $20 each.

Background The Divine Feminine is often associated with water, with receptivity, with beauty, and with supportive, soothing relationship. Oxum is one aspect of the Divine Feminine.

Here in Colorado we have great access to Oxum energies as they manifest in nature. The freshwater of local creeks, streams, and waterfalls holds this sacred energy right in our backyards.

The Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine must be in balance for harmony and wholeness.

Working with Oxum and the Divine Feminine via offerings helps to bring us back into balance as individuals and as a culture.

Practitioners of Umbanda and of African Traditional Religions in general believe that divinity is too complex to be understood by the intellectual mind or by some single, bland expression. The Orixas are one solution to the multifaceted complexity of the Creator. Each Orixa has a distinct vibration, purpose, and personality. Divinity is considered genderless and composed of both the Divine Masculine as well as the Divine Feminine.

How Do I Know If This Is Right For Me?

Are you drawn to nature, especially water? Do you partner with natural bodies of water as a way of finding peace and alleviation?

This is the power of The Divine Feminine. Experience firsthand how this sacred energy of water manifests in our world:

- In our physical bodies, especially the heart

- In our emotions and the release of crying

- In our romantic relationships

- In our local creeks, streams, and waterfalls

Specifically we will draw on the tradition of the Orishas and Oxum, the Mother of Freshwater and a potent manifestation of The Divine Feminine.

"All those who seek peace and stability in their relationship can ask Oxum for her blessing with this issue. Also known as Osúm, Osún or Oxun, this energy of the divine feminine is the representation of abundance and feminine delicacy. Mother Oxum loves the freshwaters, and it is through her energy that she soothes the hearts of the lovers."
